Writing about A Brief History of Time*, Stephen Hawking freely admitted that he didn’t care much for equations. He went on to add, with a hint of humour; “this is partly because it is difficult for me to write them down but mainly because I don’t have an intuitive feeling for equations”.

You may feel the same but there is no avoiding the fact that 30% of the marks in your GCSE Physics papers will be awarded for recalling and using equations. It is therefore vital that you can remember, rearrange and apply the required equations.

To help you, I have prepared two booklets and an information sheet, all of which you can download using the links below.

The first booklet is about equation skills and includes the technique for using equation triangles.

The information sheet summarises the equation triangles that you will need for Paper 1 and for the Y10 Progress Test.

The second booklet contains practice questions, graded from quick-fire to challenging.

I strongly suggest that you work your way through this material to improve your chances of getting a better grade!
