There are various GCSE topics where physics and chemistry intersect, so revising these areas can have a double benefit. One such example is atomic structure.

Helpfully, BP Educational Services has just released a new set of resources to help you revise this content as you prepare for this summer’s examinations. To access the free knowledge organiser (summary) and worksheet, simply visit bp.com/bpes and type the code 32059 into the Enter Student Code box (at the top of the page). That should take you straight to the appropriate resources.

The knowledge organiser is a good all-round summary but watch out for a misprint caused by some missing formatting: the diameter of a typical atom is given as 10-10 m when in fact this should be 10-10 m. (Update: That has now been corrected.) The worksheet is aimed more at chemistry than physics but it’s all important content for the combined sciences course!

Incidentally, the resources page also offers a factsheet about working as a metallurgist, which was the first job that Mr Tarrant had after leaving university.
