Many readers of this ‘blog will not be sitting GCSE examinations this summer but for those of you who are, this is probably the most important piece of information you will read this year!

AQA, which sets the Trilogy examination papers, has just released Advanced Information about the content of this summer’s examinations: the document can be found here.

In short, there is lots of information about Biology content that won’t be examined. Much less of the Physics content is being left out and there is almost nothing in the Chemistry syllabus that has been put aside. Read the document to get the details!

Remember that candidates will also be given a full list of required equations in the Physics examinations, rather than the usual abbreviated equation sheet. You can see the full document here. I suggest that, since there will be no marks for recalling equations, you are more likely to be asked to rearrange equations, so make sure you know how to do that.

Future physbang posts that are aimed specifically at the indicated content of this summer’s GCSE papers will be clearly flagged as such but I’m also going to continue posting general articles as there is much more to Physics than the summer examinations!
